The Military Health System put out a call for service members to fight the “enemy” – tobacco – and you answered! The video competition, Fight the Enemy, challenged service members to create videos that show how smoking degrades overall health and readiness. Installations from Montana to Japan participated, highlighting just how dangerous tobacco use can be.
Now that all the entries are in, MHS is inviting you to vote for your favorite Fight the Enemy video. A panel of judges will select the top three winners, but you have the power to select the Voters’ Pick. Visit the Fight the Enemy page on Health.mil or the MHS YouTube channel to view the five finalists then look near the top of the video player and give a “thumbs up” to your favorites. You may vote for as many videos as you like, but you can only vote for each video once from a single Google account. Tell your friends to vote for their favorites, too, by sharing the YouTube video links on your social media accounts.
Sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs), Fight the Enemy was open to service members, their families and DoD civilians. Submissions were accepted through November 22, 2013. The top three winners and the Voters’ Pick will be announced on March 19, 2014, in conjunction with National Kick Butts Day. Winners will receive official recognition and thanks from DoD senior leaders.
